To create and support a community of Jiu Jitsu practitioners that challenge and inspire each other to be better athletes and humans than they were yesterday.
To build better and more capable people through Jiu Jitsu training. We provide a safe, respectful, and fun environment in which to learn how to face and overcome difficult challenges that can have real world consequences. We're striving to make good people dangerous to bad people.
Jason Thompson (blue gi in the photo) is the owner and head instructor of Topeka Jiu Jitsu. He has been training for 15 years and has 7 years of experience teaching students from all walks of life with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and skill levels. Jason has also lived and taught in several locations around the world, including Indianapolis, Japan, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Topeka.
He holds a 1st degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Jason Kesler and James Clingerman (Fishers BJJ/Team James Clingerman). Jason’s teaching philosophy revolves around a conceptual and principles-driven framework, helping students to actually understand Jiu Jitsu rather than relying on rote memorization of techniques that are easily forgotten while under the pressure of live scenarios.
